Craig Harrietha

Owner & Head Packleader

Welcome and thanks for taking the time to check out Dog Tired.  Let me give you a little background on myself...

I have had dogs my whole life. I love their young spirit and unconditional loving nature. They have a way of reminding us about life's simple pleasures.

It wasn't until I had adopted two dogs from a dive shop in Roatan, Honduras that my life really changed. These dogs became my life. I had been spending hours everyday at the off-leash parks downtown teaching and playing with my dogs. I soon had friends and neighbors asking me to take their dogs with me. The more the merrier right?

After working long hours bartending and as a firefighter, I decided to create a dog walking business called Dog Tired Toronto, in Canada. Then the fun really started!  Taking care of other dogs along with your own is like bringing your kids and their best friends to the park to have nothing but an awesome time!

Now I have returned to open the second chapter here in San Diego. What better way to live then to run and swim with dogs all day!

Calypso & Timone

Head Packleaders

Calypso and Timone were both born in Honduras at a dive shop on the island of Roatan in 2009.  Although brother and sister, they have had very different beginnings to their lives.

Calypso came to Toronto at 12 weeks old.  She is a tough chick and loves all dogs big and small.  You can always count on her to keep the young pups in check when they get way too excited for their own good.  She is extremely smart and can overcome any obstacle.

Timone, was brought up to Toronto a year after Calypso. Timone was being taken care of by a local family.  When I had gone back to visit the dive shop, Timone ran right up to me, as if to say 'take me with you'.  He was in rough shape; being under fed, covered in ticks and fleas, a bullet wound in the back leg from locals trying to flee him off their property.  I needed to help him.  I paid the family 'taking care of him' and brought him home to be reunited with his sis, Calypso.  Timone is an extremely loyal dog, super goofy, and the energizer of the pack.

Although they were separated as pups, Calypso and Timone have always known they were connected on a deeper level.  They have been inseparable ever since and come on every outing with the Dog Tired packs.  They are considered my assistant pack leaders! - Craig

Head Packleader & Dog Trainer

Hi! My name is Sara. I was born and raised in San Diego County and can’t remember a time I didn’t have a dog by my side. Since my mom worked for a veterinarian, I got the opportunity to be around animals a lot and caught the Dog Lover Fever at a very young age.

When I was seven, I joined 4-h and showed my Australian Cattle Dog “Patches” in local dog shows. Since then, I have been very involved in the dog world. I worked for a doggie daycare and boarding facility for five years, and also went to school for dog behavior, training, and instructing. I have always been fascinated with dog’s intelligence and how we can create such amazing bonds with them.

I have three dogs of my own, a Rottweiler and two Australian Cattle Dogs who are bundles of energy and always up for an adventure! I’ve always loved the beach and being outside too. I am so happy to be able to be a part of Dog Tired!

Hi! My name is Amy and I am originally from Oklahoma City but proud to call San Diego my home now. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a very animal friendly home, with the constant companionship of dogs and cats. My Grandmother worked for the OKC Zoo for 25 years and I grew up admiring her. I have always felt that I was born to work with animals, but dogs are my true passion!I can’t imagine a life without dogs! Their loyalty, charisma, and compassion are unmatched. The safety and well-being of every dog is my greatest priority when I’m working with them. I treat every dog I meet as if they were my own! I feel so lucky to know the special bond between a dog and their owner. Rescuing my Aussie-mix, Bear, has been the greatest responsibility I have ever known. He is so special to me and we have been through a lot together. He has made me a better person and I truly believe he rescued me!

Hi, my name is Kristen!

I recently transplanted from Ohio to California with my two dogs, Xena and Zeke. Ever since I was little, I've been in love with animals. Most of my life, I have had the companionship of my favorite four legged critters... Which is of course dogs! It's hard for me to imagine a life without them!

There really is no better day to me, than being out with a pack of dogs, enjoying the sun and getting a good walk in. Some people envision their best beach day as laying around and relaxing... But I would rather be surrounded by pups! -"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself"

Hi, My name is Brittany Kaplan. I am originally from Illinois. I’ve been working mainly with dogs since I moved to San Diego 5 years ago. I have been building everlasting relationships with dogs and their owners while working at dog day care centers and dog walking companies.

Since I was little , animals have always been a part of my life, especially dogs. I've grown up with dogs since I was about 10 years old and I have always had a soft spot in my heart for them. The highlight of my day is the opportunity to take a pack of dogs to the beach and watch them all have so much fun!
